The Global Climate Strike on Sept 15th is organized by youth across the globe as a day of action against climate inaction. Here in Los Angeles, we’ve been holding climate strikes since 2019. We’re striking in line with demands centered on putting organized people-pressure on our elected officials to ACT NOW on the climate crisis, to wake up people in this city, to address the climate crisis head-on, and to end our dependence on oil. As LA Youth, we’re using this LA climate strike to build power with broader social movements here in Los Angeles, to support other youth leaders to fight for climate adaptation, and to mobilize Los Angeles to focus on climate action. Our targets include – but are not limited to – LA City, LA County, LADWP, LAUSD, the State of California, and the Federal Government.
